Horror films being a perfect example - all the suspense and tension of any effective horror film would dissipate in the sweaty air of the intermission rush to more M & Ms. But plays have intermissions, as does the opera, musicals, and some concert performances. If intermissions come back, they should be studio mandated for movies exceeding 2 hours. Most movies now aren't written or edited with that in mind, and it shouldn't be left to theaters to edit movies (pretty sure there was a post about that recently). Every theater in my area has alcohol and high quality food already.
