Mike Auldridge: December 30, 1938 – December 29, 2012. Mike Auldridge passed away at his Silver Spring, Maryland, home on December 29, 2012 having being diagnosed as having inoperable prostate cancer. He was widely acknowledged as the premier resophonic guitar player.

Auldridge died in 2012 following a near decade-long struggle with cancer. Curtis Burch : A member of the original New Grass Revival in the 1970s, and a guitarist as well as dobro player. Jerry Douglas : A leading contemporary dobro player and 13 time Grammy Award winner, Douglas leads his own band and is a member of Alison Krauss 's Union Station.

The first time I heard him was on WAMU 88.5 FM radio, and as a result I took up playing the resonator guitar. I am very fortunate to have developed a close friendship with Mike that allowed us to design his signature guitar. Today the Mike Auldridge signature guitar is crafted to the same standard as the first one in 2003.
The parting was amicable and, less than a month later, Ben found himself sitting in with a pick-up band that held down a spot for Cliff when he had to be away for another engagement. That ensemble soon morphed into the Seldom Scene, with original members John Duffey, John Starling, Mike Auldridge, Ben Eldridge, Tom Gray, and Dave Auldridge.
