Centennial is a home rule municipality located in Arapahoe County, Colorado, United States. The city population was 108,418 at the 2020 United States Census, making Centennial the 11th most populous municipality in Colorado. Centennial is a part of the Denver–Aurora–Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area and the Front Range Urban Corridor.
One of Colorado's newest cities, Centennial was incorporated in February 2001. It boasts over 100,000 residents, making it Colorado's 10th largest city. Centennial is home to the the Streets at SouthGlenn, which offers a variety of shops, boutiques and restaurants.
Situated in Arapahoe County, Centennial got its name from Colorado’s nickname of the “Centennial State.” The state was admitted to the union in 1876, which was the 100th year anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, hence the name centennial.
