Maps and Directions. Balliol is in the centre of Oxford, on three sites: The main College site in Broad Street ( OX1 3BJ) Jowett Walk ( OX1 3TL) and the Master’s Field (new residential buildings, adjacent to the College sports ground). These are collectively known as the Dervorguilla site.
Balliol College, Oxford, one of the constituent colleges of the University of Oxford, is governed by the Master and Fellows of the college. When Balliol died in 1269 his widow Devorguilla formally established Balliol as a college, providing an endowment, official statutes, and the seal of the college, which it still maintains.

The College is still international (around forty nationalities are represented in its present membership), and has a high profile in the University of Oxford. At the height of the British Empire, Balliol men were its leaders: three successive Viceroys of India 1888-1905, for example.
