Nov 22, 2023 · The Cloudcroft Baby Sanatorium operated between 1911 and 1934, treating children who suffered from heatstroke and dehydration in the days before air conditioning and food refrigeration. The original patient log, on display at the museum, proved a resource when the village organized a reunion in 1999.

Cloudcroft's history can be traced back to the expansion of the railroad in the continental United States in the 19th century. In the late 1890s, brothers John and Charles Eddy of the El Paso and Northeastern Railroad intended to expand the line north of the town of Alamogordo.

Mar 17, 2023 · Check out the historic Mexican Canyon Trestle at the scenic vista just northwest of Cloudcroft, the highest town in New Mexico. Allen Sheffield/flickr. This trestle was built in 1899 for the Alamogordo & Sacramento Mountain Railroad. It was abandoned in 1948, but has been restored and is a stunning historic landmark.

Summer tubing and pizza will open JULY 5, 2024 and be open Friday-Sunday through Labor Day weekend. We have several improvements and projects we're trying to get a jump on before the rainy season.
