Heroic BSoD: Korra is an emotionally broken state in the epilogue due to the events of the episode. Heroic Rematch: Bolin and Mako fare better against Ghazan and Ming-Hua than they did the first time around. The fact that Bolin can lavabend certainly helps, and Mako gets to fight on terrain which favors his abilities.
May 20, 2021 · The storyline did not witness many deaths. RELATED: 9 Times Korra Was A Better Avatar Than Aang. However, the few that occurred were heartbreaking enough to leave a mark. Irrespective of the character's motives, their death left an effect on many other characters and their arcs throughout the series.
I'm assuming that everything happened the same except Korra didn't manage to Avatar State her way out of the chains. She dies, and Ming-Hua, Zaheer, and Ghazan are there when Tonraq, Mako, and Bolin run in. Ming-Hua destroys Tonraq, Zaheer slams Mako into a wall and it kills him, and then Ming-Hua and Zaheer help kill Bolin.

Sokka fell into the forgotten category with Suki, Ty Lee, Mai, Azula, Momo, Appa, Ozai, and a few other characters. He died before LoK begins, presumably protecting baby Korra from the Red Lotus. he’s dead. Idk why so many people miss the moment Katara clearly says he’s dead in S1. He dead.

Korra being given the mercury poison is a way to kill her and the Avatar state in one fell swoop. She has to be in the AS and die at the same time.
