But with the left-moving knees given real stops, it is real pedal steel guitar (and while I'd complain about the deficiency, it will play ok with the original design and a careful touch). Any steel snob comes along and says something smartass about it can be told 'you are ignorant and you are wrong'.

For anyone having a problem with the stop screw on LKL knee lever on a Carter Starter I have solved it thanks to Al Brisco, Steel Guitars of Canada. From a piece of aluminum make a piece app. 3/4 inch square x 3/16” thick for the LKL knee lever to stop against. I remove the existing stop screw & drill a hole for it in the outside corner ...

We ended up speaking on the phone and I told him about my struggles with the short pedals most steels have. Frank ended up making me a REALLY nice polished aluminum lift kit.

The guitar fits into the back section with the divider and blocking securing the guitar. The pedal bar and pouch containing the legs and pedal pull rods fit in the front section.
