Who knows what will be the next with the updated 2024 model. Just saw an article where J.D. Power rated the Ranger higher I reliability than the Tacoma. Both of which will be all new in 2024.
Feb 27, 2007 · I bought my 04 with the 5R55E about 3 weeks ago (31K miles). During the test drive I did notice hard shifts both up and down from 1-2-3 and 3-2-1. Also noted that when shifting from D to R it took about 4 full seconds for the shift to take place. Took it to the local Ford Dealer and they did an overhaul.
2007 Ford Ranger Camshaft Sensor Magnet May Damage Synchronizers. The magnet for the camshaft position sensor may fall out of its mount and damage the synchronizers. This causes long crank times when starting the engine and may cause the Check Engine Light to illuminate. If this happens, both the magnets and the synchronizers need to be replaced.
