Leadbetter could be better, but it is convenient. Jul 2023 • Family. Leadbetter Beach is conveniently located within minutes of downtown Santa Barbara. Good but not great sand. It is the west coast and feels like the sun is setting to the north and not west over the ocean. Tough to get good sunset pictures.
Planned to hold a beach bridal shower in Santa Barbara during Solstice weekend celebrations. When we arrived, the beach by the Stearns Wharf was already taken up by tournaments and other festivities. We drove just a little ways down the road to Leadbetter and found a great place to set up.
