Mar 22, 2016 · Those familiar with Phil Rickman's Merrily Watkins books will find this TV mini-series a bit lean. To be sure, Rickman's many, well-developed characters and complex plots would require a "Downton Abbey" length commitment to do them justice, but this 3-episode show isn't bad.
