The resort has been lauded for it's incredible vertical drop and also the very minimal wait times due to it's advanced lift system.

Our new snow totals are calculated hourly starting when the resort closes at 4 p.m. As snow falls overnight and through the next day, the new snow total is updated until it is cleared again at 4 p.m. Our 1-day total is calculated from 7 a.m. - 7 a.m.. 2-day, 3-day, and 7-day totals are a summation of the 1-day totals over the respective days.
Calculated from 4 SNOTEL sites within 18 miles of Big Sky at an average elevation of 8,458 ft (not from official resort measurements). We use weather stations because they update automatically and provide consistent measurements over many decades. This snowpack data is currently only available for resorts in the western U.S.
