The Cognizant Founders Cup is a women's professional golf tournament on the LPGA Tour in Clifton, New Jersey. It debuted in 2011 at the Wildfire Golf Club at JW Marriott Phoenix Desert Ridge Resort and Spa in Phoenix, Arizona. The tournament is designed as a tribute to the founders of the LPGA.
The primary beneficiary of the Cognizant Founders Cup is the LPGA-USGA Girls Golf Program. Over the past 10 years, the Cognizant Founders Cup has raised nearly $4 million for the organization. Those donations have enabled Girls Golf to add 34 new sites and support growing locations that doubled in size.
The LPGA’s 13 Founders would have loved Upper Montclair Country Club. The 100-year-old AW Tillinghast design tests the world’s best players in so many ways and will do so again as the Cognizant Founders Cup is contested at the venue for the third year in a row this week.
