The towers have formed along the west side of a ridge. The trail winds along the edge of the ridge, approaching several of the rock structures. Access to the Fisher Towers The Fisher Towers are reached by a short (2.2 mile), somewhat bumpy vehicle track, off Hwy 128, that climbs quite steeply near the end, and leads to the BLM trailhead and a five site tent campground (fees $25 per night in 2024; no RVs). The track is signed from the highway.

The Titan, the largest of the towers in Fisher Towers, is the largest freestanding tower in the United States, and proved quite an endeavor when first climbed in the early 1960's by Layton Kor. The team (Layton Kor, Huntley Ingalls, and George Hurley) took four days to reach the summit, with Layton leading every pitch.

The towers are huge soaring fins of mud up to 1000 feet high. Nearly all the routes on the major towers are at least Grade IVs, and there is more than one Grade VI here. Oct 30, 2023 · Fisher Towers trail is a short out and back hike located about 20 minutes outside of Moab, Utah. This area is extremely popular with climbers but also makes for a great hike as well. Like many of the hikes in and near Moab, this one is typically popular year-round but does not require reservations or a fee to complete.
