Rathmines (/ ˈ r æ θ ˌ m aɪ n z /; Irish: Ráth Maonais, meaning 'ringfort of Maonas') is an affluent inner suburb on the Southside of Dublin in Ireland. It begins at the southern side of the Grand Canal and stretches along the Rathmines Road as far as Rathgar to the south, Ranelagh to the east, and Harold's Cross to the west.

You have pub quizzes and comedy in Mother Reilly’s, board games and craft beers in Blackbird and cocktails with huge sports screens in Rody Bolands – but to name a few. 8.
The Aboriginal people, in this area, the Awabakal, were the first people of this land. [2] Rathmines was first settled by Europeans at around 1840. It was named after the town of Rathmines in Ireland. Orchards, vineyards and cattle were the early industries. The first school opened in 1941. A RAAF base operated in Rathmines from 1939 to 1963.
Place rating: 4 Rathmines, Dublin, Republic of Ireland Swan Leisure is the gym and leisure centre located in Rathmines, and it’s a really good gym, in my limited opinion. The staff are ever visible and helpful, happy to make you an exercise régime based on your needs.
The Leeson Lodge. Ballsbridge, Dublin. The Leeson Lodge is a family-run guesthouse located in the quieter Georgian Quarter of Dublin's city centre. Immaculately clean!! LOVED the 'communal' kitchen and the outside space, with tables and chairs. Eating places/restaurants an 8-minute walk; pub just around the corner.
