What a weekend to remember - set in the grounds of Trinity College Dublin over 50 Scouts earned their Chief Scout Awards, and we couldn't be more thrilled for them! 🎉. Dual Awards offer the opportunity for Scouts to pursue both their Chief Scout Awards (with Scouting Ireland) and their Gaisce Award at the same time.

The Chief Scout Award is the highest youth programme award in each of the Programme Sections in Scouting Ireland. It is designed to tie-in with the Gaisce Award / Duke of Edinburgh's Award, and the Chief Scout Award for Scouts, Venture Scouts, and Rover Scouts are awarded jointly with the Bronze, Silver and Gold awards respectively.
Scout Awards. Find everything you need to work towards you Scouts top award and Challenge Badges. Start with your membership badge and then travel all the way up to the Chief Scout's Gold Award. You can work towards as many as you like, at your own pace. And once you've earned them, here's where to sew them on.
The Chief Scout Award is designed in such a way that a Youth Member (Scouts, Venture Scouts and Rover Scouts only) will complete their Chief Scout Award and Gaisce/DoE concurrently. By meeting the requirements for the Chief Scout Award, a Youth Member will automatically have completed their Gaisce.
If you haven’t quite completed the challenges for the Chief Scout’s Gold Award, you can complete them in your first term in the Explorer Unit. May 2024. Requirements can be adapted to suit each young persons abilities. See our guidance on flexibility.
