Stanton then left Nebraska at the end of the school year and transferred to Saddleback Junior College. In his only season with the Gauchos, Stanton completed 293-of-465 passes for 3,471 yards and 27 touchdowns and also led the team in rushing with 747 yards and 12 touchdowns.
