Phillips has been based at the studio since 2005, after he directed the 2004 comedy Starsky & Hutch for the studio.
The movie, which Green Hat produced with Joel Silver and his Warner-based Silver Pictures, opens in theaters March 2, 2012. Phillips’ first project under his deal at Warner Bros. was 2009’s smash hit “The Hangover,” which went on to become the highest-grossing R-rated comedy both domestically and internationally.
