Parley Baer was an American actor and radio personality. He was best known for his roles as Chester A. Riley in the radio and television series The Life of Riley, and as Mayor Stoner in the television series The Andy Griffith Show. Baer began his career in radio in the 1930s, and was a regular on the popular Fibber McGee and Molly show.
