Night Passage was supposed to be the 6th western and 9th film of the director/actor combination of James Stewart and Anthony Mann. For 1957, the film looks great, and my Dvd does have a shimmer to it, like the film could have been made in the 1980's. Night Passage also brought another first for me, my first encounter with actor/war hero, Audie Murphy, and he's rather good here as the Utica Kid, a wise-cracking confident gunslinger and train robber.
