It’s not just about the jump scares — in fact, there’s very few in this film — as Ledesma puts more care in the atmosphere and the idea behind the horror.

Dec 25, 2019 · Ang ganda rin ng title na Sunod dahil very apt sa movie. Sa umpisa, akala mo, yun na ang meaning. Yun pala, may kasunod pang interpretation sa latter part of the movie. Isa pang nagustuhan ko ay yung paggamit ng isang dramatic mother-daughter story para sa isang horror movie.

"Sunod" (Next) is a pretty well-made Filipino horror film elevated by the surprising dedication of the filmmakers for the cinematography. In fact, I think it's probably the most well-shot and assembled mainstream horror film from the Philippines in years. The film also feels Hollywood-ized, from the themes to the narrative structure.
