Amityville (/ ˈ æ m ɪ t i v ɪ l /) is a village in the Town of Babylon in Suffolk County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. The population was 9,523 at the 2020 census. The village maintains its own accredited law enforcement agency the Amityville Police Department known for very fast response times to calls.
First settled in the 1600’s, it was not until March 3rd, 1894 that it became the Incorporated Village of Amityville. Within the Village boundaries, there are numerous parks and public spaces for all to enjoy.
