   When did Stanislaus State College become a university?

   • The State Legislature established Stanislaus State College in 1957, and the first classes were held at the Stanislaus County Fairgrounds in 1960. The college moved to its current 228-acre location in 1965. It was awarded university status in 1985, changing its name to California State University, Stanislaus.
