May 6, 2024 · 2. Do use the metro to get around. St. Petersburg’s metro system is absolutely fantastic. The underground trains run every 2 to 3 minutes, the stations are beautiful and the network can get you anywhere in the city. The stations in the city centre are open till 12:30 AM, and they’re very safe.

In Philadelphia a subway system was opened in 1907, and Chicago’s system opened in 1943. Moscow constructed its original system in the 1930s.
