  2. I believe that Allen Carr's best book was 'The Easy Way to Quit Smoking', and he just sort of copied over the technique to alcohol. As he wasn't actually addicted to alcohol (but to nicotine yes), the alcohol book wasn't quite 100%, and there were even a few errors in it.

Though I do know it didn’t work for me when I came to the words that I didn’t have to stop now, I could carry on drinking. I’m sure this was my interpretation of what I read and when I got to those words I stopped reading the rest and drank!

  6. For me, the major takeaways from the book were: understanding the nicotine addiction. Vaping is a nic addiction. Simple as that. accepting that I am not actually gaining anything by vaping/smoking apart from ending the withdrawal period. This I have always known, but the book really hammers it home.
