I love the mercy thing too. I think a lot of zombie shows/movies tend to forget or ignore the fact that zombies were living people once, so putting them down like they do in ZNation is the humane thing to do. Also the transformation looks painful as heck so I'd rather be killed quickly and painlessly before it starts.
