Boccadasse is a perfectly preserved fishing village within a large city. A temporal island in Genoa, a place frozen two centuries ago, still with its boats on the beach, the low and colorful houses, the sounds and the smells of the sea in every alley.
The ancient village of Boccadasse lies at the eastern end of the main promenade of the city of Genoa, Corso Italia. The village of Boccadasse, with its pastel coloured houses around its cobblestone beach, preserved itself and remained unchanged making it a well-known tourist location of the city.
It’s about an hour and a half walk from the central train station in Genoa, but a pleasant and interesting walk. Getting to Boccadasse is all about the journey, and once you are there, the postcard moments are yours for the taking. The most iconic view is just at the end of the Corso de Italy.

This broad 2.5km-long pavement lined with Liberty villas leads to Boccadasse, a once separate fishing village that appears like a sawn-off chunk of Cinque Terre. Its pebble beach is a perfect gelato-licking location by day and its gaggle of small bars serve up spritzes to happy crowds on summer evenings.
Boccadasse is really worth a visit, it has a lovely beach surrounded by different coloured houses and narrow streets. We had a delicious ice cream in the shade. Afterwards we walked along the promenade, it was really nice!
