Brookline Village is one of the major commercial and retail centers of the town of Brookline, Massachusetts, United States. Located just north of Massachusetts Route 9 and west of the Muddy River, it is the historic center of the town and includes its major civic buildings, including town hall and the public library.

Dec 11, 2019 · Boasting acres of greenery, Brookline is home to a golf course and the world-famous Larz Anderson Park and is a mere stone’s throw away from Jamaica Pond and the Arnold Arboretum. Historically, the Algonquin tribe inhabited the area, which was then later colonized by Europeans.
The walking tour of the Village begins at the Hearthstone Plaza, the former site of the Punch Bowl Tavern. The early development of the Village was centered around this well-known tavern which served "refreshments for man or beast."
