May 15, 2024 · The Five Stairsteps, known as "The First Family of Soul" and later "The Invisible Man's Band", was an American Chicago soul group made up of five of Betty and Clarence Burke Sr.'s six children: Alohe Jean, Clarence Jr., James, Dennis, and Kenneth "Keni", and briefly, Cubie.

May 18, 2024 · Clarence was one of the Burke siblings that made up the vocal group, The Five Stairsteps. They were discovered by Curtis Mayfield, who recorded the group for his own Windy C record label in 1966. Clarence went on to found the group the Invisible Man’s Band. Clarence died on May 26, 2013.
