Commonly known as "Roscoe", Ross began his career in 1957 at Sydney radio station 2GB. He returned to Sydney as a National Nine News reporter in 1965.
Former news anchor Ian Ross has died from pancreatic cancer. A routine blood test revealed late last year that the 73-year-old media veteran had cancer that had already spread to his liver. In the weeks before Christmas, he went to see a doctor about a sore foot, which led to the tests that showed he had cancer.

The former Seven and Nine news presenter, 73, had routine blood tests before Christmas last year which resulted in the news that the pancreatic cancer had spread to his liver and he had five months to live.
