May 27, 2024 · Answer: L. S. Caton. Reginald Ashley Caton was the publisher of Amis's first book of poetry, 'Bright November'. Like his namesake in 'Lucky Jim', he was dilatory and difficult to contact. Amis gave him the initials L. S. (for 'Lazy Sod'), and put him in unflattering minor roles in his early novels, killing him off in 'The Anti-Death league'.

May 11, 2024 · 4/5: Wasn't fussed about this for the most part but it gradually turned into something more crowd-pleasing and conventional and I was won over by the end of it. Much of it isn't all that interesting or amusing.
