Robert Cornelius Mitchell (June 6, 1935 – April 5, 2020) was an American football halfback and flanker who played in the National Football League (NFL) for the Cleveland Browns and the Washington Redskins. Mitchell became the Redskins' first African-American star after joining them in 1962, when they became the last NFL team to integrate.
