The shell is WW2 era, as it is front seamed, however helmets were re-used over the next 3 decades or so. So they repainted them (Vietnam era paint was a pea-green type color). And the hardware, namely the connectors for the chin straps, are Vietnam. In WW2 the chin straps were actually sewn onto the bales, versus clipped on.
