I had bought the guitar second-hand in 1991, and it might have been a 1980s model. I've been told that it might be a Nightbird or Songbird, but that neither of those had Varitone switches.
Jul 29, 2024 · That is $3000, twice the D 40's value. It is not twice the guitar, but the market has spoken. When that 70 D 18 is worth $5000, a D 40 will be wort about $2500. Speculation of course. I'm just glad Guild threw perfectly good wood into the pile for D 25s and D 35s.

This is a really great sounding Westerly-made Guild from the mid-90s, featuring all solid woods, spruce top and mahogany back and sides, rosewood fretboard and bridge. The D6 has been described as basically a D-40 with a few less appointments and a matt finish.

Jul 21, 2024 · I love guitars made from mahogany and with all the other specs, tuners, pots, and pups sold me. Not to mention the demo model was $100 less that the Epi 335 Dot. Epiphone has gotten real proud of the guitars the last couple of years.
