2 days ago · Why was Halloween Ends hated? Part of what infuriated people was the hilariously misleading marketing. If you looked back at the trailers and had to guess the film's plot, your natural assumption would be that it's the climactic final confrontation between Laurie Strode and Michael Myers.
Halloween III was hated at the time because nobody had any idea that it was going to be a anthology film, even with the trailers, but over time people have come around to it and come to appreciate it as it's own thing apart from the rest of the franchise. Halloween Ends isn't really it's own thing, it's part of a connected story.
