     The link is 1,536 Mbps, but is time divisioned multiplexed. One circuit uses one timeslot, which means it gets 1/24th of the link bandwidth. So, one circuit has a bandwidth of 64 Kbps (=1.536/24).

     So the actual transfer time to move 640.000 bits (=640 Kb) over that circuit is 10 seconds (=640/64).

     Add the connection setup time of 500 msec and you get a total of 10.500 msec or 10,5 seconds.

     I don't think that there's an easy answer to your question. Learning to use a screen reader is similar to learning a new language, so the amount of time that it will take is going to depend heavily on how immersive your screen-reader usage is as well as other things, like the quality and quantity of any training you've taken, your natural ability to learn, etc.

     Keep in mind that using a screen reader is just plain difficult. You'll get better, but it's always more difficult than being able to visually read a screen. Understand that it's going to take longer to do most things, even after you become proficient.

     I'm not sure what you've tried already, but there are a few things that may be helpful for you:

     • Adjust the contrast. Many applications and OS have a "high-contrast" mode that can sometimes be helpful for people who have sensitivity to light (although sometimes it's not). Using a black background can significantly improve experiences for some people. Try setting the text to white first and then reducing the contrast as needed so that your eyes don't hurt as much but you can still read the text.
     • Try different screen readers. NVDA is pretty decent, but Voiceover on Mac and JAWS are also very good. You may find that you have a personal preference for one over another. To me, Voiceover is much easier to use, but I find that it's not as full-featured.
     • Try different browsers. You may or may not be aware but the browser that you use makes a huge difference in what your screen reader will or won't announce. Historically, IE and FireFox have been most popular in the accessibility community, but with IE mostly being obsolete at this point, I wouldn't recommend it.

     Yes, but a lowercase-latin 6 character string is also short enough that you would expect to compute this one time and put it into a database so that you could look it up in O(1). It's only a bit over 300M entries. That said, given you're 50% likely to find the answer in the first half of your search, it's so fast to crack that you might not even bother unless you were doing this often. You don't even need a particularly fancy GPU for something on this scale.

     Note that in many cases a 6 character string can also be a 5 character string, so you need to add 26^6 + 26^5 + 26^4 + ..., but all of these together only raises this to around 320M hashes. It's a tiny space.

     Adding uppercase, numbers and the easily typed symbols gets you up to 96^6 ~ 780B. On the other hand, adding just 3 more lowercase-letters (9 total) gets you to 26^9 ~ 5.4T. For brute force on random strings, longer is much more powerful than complicated.

     To your specific question, note that it does matter how you implement this. You won't get these kinds of hash rates if you don't write your code in a way to maximize the GPU. For example, writing simple code that sends one value to the GPU to hash at a time, and then compares the result on the CPU could be incredibly slow (in some cases slower than just doing all the work on a CPU). Setting up your memory efficiently and maximizing things the GPU can do in parallel are very important. If you're not familiar with this kind of programming, I recommend using or studying a tool like John the Ripper.

     Cloud Trace tells you how long it takes an application to handle a given request. Cloud Trace collects latency data from App Engine, HTTP(S) load balancers, and applications instrumented with the Cloud Trace API, it can help you answer the following questions:

     • How long does it take my application to handle a given request?
     • Why is it taking my application so long to handle a request?
     • Why do some of my requests take longer than others?

     Cloud Trace is a distributed tracing system that collects latency data from your applications and displays it in the Google Cloud Console. You can track how requests propagate through your application and receive detailed near real-time performance insights, how long it takes your application to handle incoming requests from users or other applications, and how long it takes to complete operations like RPC calls performed when handling the requests. Cloud Trace automatically analyzes all your application's traces to generate in-depth latency reports to surface performance degradations, and can capture traces from all your VMs, containers, or App Engine projects. Once you’ve determined which requests might need to be optimized, you can use Cloud Profiler to see which parts of the code for those requests are using the most CPU and memory.

     Analysis reports show you the latency distribution for your application and also attempt to identify performance bottlenecks, which is a great feature. You have to have at least 100 traces before you can run a report, though.

     • To view traces, in the Google Cloud Console select Trace and then select Trace list. If you're using Trace for the first time, it can take a few minutes for traces to appear.
     • The Trace list page defaults to displaying data from the previous hour, you can change this interval. The graph labeled Select a trace displays a dot for each request in your selected time interval. The (x,y) coordinates for a request correspond to the time and latency of the request.
     • You can also use filters to find individual traces. Traces that don't match the filter are hidden from view. Each filter is specified by a predefined OPTION that is paired with a VALUE. The general syntax is: [OPTION] : [VALUE].
