May 8, 2024 · The Julian calendar was introduced in 45 BC by Julius Caesar. It featured a normal year of 365 days with a leap year of 366 days every fourth year (with no exceptions). This set the length of its year as 365.25 days. This however is actually more than the actual solar year value of 365.24217 days.
