Jan 19, 2005 · Meng-Ju “Mark” Wu, a 20-year-old former University of Wisconsin student who was charged with a triple homicide in 2003, committed suicide Monday in the Dane County Jail. Wu was found at about 1 a.m. hanging from a strip of cloth tied to a sprinkler head in his prison cell, according to a release.
Jan 18, 2005 · Dane County Sheriff Gary Hamblin said deputies at the jail found Wu during a routine check at 12:55 a.m. Madison fire paramedics and Madison Police Sgt. Karen Krahn responded to the jail. Despite efforts to resuscitate him, Wu, 20, was declared dead a short time later.

Wu had been in the Dane County Jail since Nov. 3, 2003, accused of a triple homicide and awaiting a trial which was to have started last Tuesday.
