I’m not sure if it was Ryan’s intention, but I think it conveys how Max is always in a breakneck rush to accomplish something. Even when he’s trying to be quiet or reassuring, he’s always desperate to get results, to the point where he talks so much he runs out of breath or struggles to articulate his lightyear-speed train of thought.
All I remember is that in the first two seasons, Max was one of my favourite characters in season one and two, and after that I wanted to punch him right in the face. Did I change and no longer have patience for Max's sanctimonious bullshit?
