If you need to adjust the flame, simply loosen the nut on the pipe and slide the pipe one direction or the other. If you take you RV into different elevations, you may have to adjust the flame anyway.

My plan was to dismantle/cut up the old heater in place and replace it with a simple heat exchange unit (no electrical connection). An example is shown.
