Hardwick will be transported to the Medical Examiner’s Office for the Western District of Virginia where the cause and manner of death will be determined. Investigators have arrested Barry David Davis, 50, of Gretna. Davis is charged with the murder Hardwick.

After Pelletier was hit by the passing vehicle, authorities said the driver "evaded the scene."
