The San Diego Trolley (known colloquially as "the Trolley") is a light rail system operating in the metropolitan area of San Diego. The Trolley's operator, San Diego Trolley, Inc. ( reporting mark SDTI ), is a subsidiary of the San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS).
There are three trolley lines (Blue, Orange and Green) that service the downtown San Diego communities and beyond, covering 65 miles of double-track railway and 62 stations total. Trolley and bus adult fares are inexpensive and children 5 and under ride for free.
How Much Does It Cost to Ride the San Diego Trolley. The San Diego Trolley is a very affordable way to get around town. One-way fares are $2.50 for adults and kids and $1.25 for senior, disabled, and Medicare customers. There is also a $2 fee for purchasing a new Compass card.
