I'd say that going from my Edifier BT 1700 powered speakers to an Emotiva BasX A2m with Wharfdale 225s speaker added about 50% more clarity and resolution to my treble and mid range, and a lot more bass (it went from 55 hz down to 40 hz) so the music sounded much fuller and dynamic and detailed.
