May 27, 2024 · I'd say The Killing of a Sacred Deer works more as a character study film than as a film that has something meaningful to say (and usually Yorgos' films are both) and that's not necessarily a bad thing, but unfortunately it just didn't really work for me, I did really enjoyed the acting though, very awkward and interesting to watch.
Martin (Barry Keoghan) just threaten his family with death, if Steven report to the police it would leave a record and could be use as evidence. He doesn't retatelate. He's already kidnap Martin, why not kill him when either one of his family dies or when one of them starts eye bleeding, both proves the curse is real.
