     According to the section on marshalling JSON:

     Struct values encode as JSON objects. Each exported struct field becomes a member of the object, using the field name as the object key, unless the field is omitted.

     The field of each string can be customized by the format string stored under the json key in the struct field's tag. The format string gives the name of the field, possibly followed by a comma separated list of options.

     The "omitempty" option specifies that the field should be omitted from the encoding if the field has an empty value, defined as false, 0, a nil pointer, a nil interface value, and any empty array, slice, map, or string.

     Yes, the second selector has higher specificity.

     #someId is just a single ID and will select any element with that ID regardless of what element it is. a#someId is both an element and an ID, making it more specific as it will only select anchor a elements with that ID.

     There is a common trick to calculating specificity and comparing the specificity of different selectors, which is to count the IDs, classes, and elements like X,X,X. The most specific selector is the one with the highest leftmost number (if that is a tie, move to the next number).

     #someId is just an ID, so it's 1,0,0.

     a#someId is an ID and an element, so it's 1,0,1 and therefore more specific.

     IDs are always more specific than classes and classes are always more specific than elements. Psuedo-elements count as elements and psuedo-classes count as classes for the purposes of calculating specificity. Technically 256 elements = 1 class and 256 classes = 1 ID, but if you ever have that much going on in a selector string you have way bigger problems to worry about.

     The only thing more specific than an ID (besides a selector string containing several IDs) is a style with !important or an inline style declared via the style attribute on the element.

     Probably if you consider only http calls to APIs, the advantages brought by RxJS vs Promises are not that many. The retry operator makes it easier to retry when errors occur, maybe managing race conditions is easier using switchMap, but overall not that much.

     The reason is that http calls are a "one shot" thing. You fire 1 call and that 1 call returns just 1 result or errors. Just like Promeses are "one shot" things.

     Where RxJS really shines is when you have to deal with streams of events that may have more than 1 emission over time. The Cloud and the DOM are 2 examples of sources of such streams. These are the situations where you can see how RxJS is Promises on steroids.

     Whenever I look at any documentation page for a Java class, it never specifies the maven coordinates of the dependency I need in order to use the class.

     You are currently looking at the javadocs for the class. The Maven coordinates don't belong there1.

     What you need to do is to look for the documentation for the library (or whatever) that the class belongs to. If the library documentation is well written, it will tell you the Maven coordinates, probably in the "getting started" section.

     The other approach is to use to use a search tool to identify the name of the distribution JAR file, then try to find that in Maven Central. That won't tell you which version of the library is best to use. For that you need to read the library's documentation; e.g. the release notes or change logs.

     UPDATE - In this case, finding the Maven coordinates in the Amazon documentation is challenging. (They seem to think we should all be using their Eclipse plugin ...) However, a little bit of digging and here is the Maven Central query to list all available versions:

     1 - Please don't presume to tell the Java community that they have got it all wrong, just because they don't conform to your expectations. If you think Java sucks, find a job where you don't need to use it. Or at least, keep your unwanted opinions to yourself.
