Since their first appearance in Star Trek: the Next Generation, the Borg had stated their intentions were to assimilate the galaxy. This is something that always intrigued me about the Borg. I always wanted to know where they come from or what their motivations are.
Let’s assume humpback whales aren’t extinct in 2063 when the time travelling Borg successfully take over earth. Do the Borg assimilate all intelligent life? I’d imagine that life forms have to be somewhat compatible and benefit the collective in someway, and I’d imagine that an underwater whale size sleep alcove wouldn’t be practical etc.
These days, the Borg are a little bit neutered in comparison and there's no real way of coming back from that. The Kelvin timeline hasn't had any Borg so it'd be a blank canvas. If there was ever a Kelvin timeline story about them, what would you do with them?
