Il Bidone is superbly directed as ever by Fellini, and looks absolutely beautiful with the sweeping cinematography and scenery. The music score by Nino Rota is bright and jaunty in tone with enough of the sumptuous orchestration to make his wok distinctive.
Masterfully entwining the story’s human grit with elements of humor and pathos, Fellini crafts a searing portrait of a man reckoning with the consequences of his life’s choices that hits with the force of a profound moral tragedy.
