Kuroido Goroshi ("The Murder of Kuroido") is a 2018 made-for-TV-movie from Japan. It is an adaptation of Agatha Christie 's novel The Murder of Roger Ackroyd. Except for changing the setting from 1926 England to 1952 Japan, it is a highly faithful one.

Japanese names
As with many Japanese adaptations, much attention is given to making the Japanese names echo or match the original names. Shiba is close to Shepherd, and Hamose is close to Hammond. An interesting approach is Hanako, which means "little flower" in Japanese. This corresponds to Flora.
The following locations were used for filming: 1. Kuroido's house - Rokkaen in Kuwana, Mie Prefecture. 2. Suguro's house - Former Mackenzie House, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
Dr. Shiba's best friend Mr. Kuroido, the richest man in the village had been proposing Sanako, so he is deeply shocked by her death. Mr. Kuroido invites Dr. Shiba to his house and had dinner together with his niece Hanako, step sister Mitsuru, his secretary Shigeichi, and his old friend Goro.
