Playing the Rococo Variations in Tchaikovsky’s home city of Saint Petersburg inspired Jan Vogler to record a collection of the composer’s cello works with orchestra. On the album both the Rococo Variations and String Sextet are placed alongside transcriptions for cello and orchestra of the Sérénade mélancholique and Méditation.
