The cassette was manufactured and printed by Klarity Kassette, Inc. The self-produced/made cassette tape was only issued in a very small limited number.
The band then once again decided to change its name, this time settling on the name Fuel, before self-releasing their second EP, Porcelain, in 1996 as well as repackaging their first EP, Small the Joy, with the "Fuel" name on it. Porcelain sold well locally, spawning a small local radio hit with "Shimmer" even before being signed to a major label.
Jul 29, 2022 · Small the Joy was Fuel's initial band name. Abbott and Fuel parted ways in 1998 before the band hit big with their debut album, Sunburn . That effort contains the alternative rock radio hit "Shimmer."

The origins of Fuel were formed in Kenton, Tennessee in 1989 by guitarist Carl Bell, bassist Jeff Abercrombie and drummer Jody Abbot as a band called Small the Joy. In 1993 they added guitarist/lead singer Brett Scallions and keyboardist Erik Avakian and then changed their name to Fuel in 1994. Fuel was a fan favorite of the local bar scene.
