Jerry Lynn Ross (born January 20, 1948, Crown Point, Indiana) is a retired United States Air Force officer, engineer, and a former NASA astronaut. Ross is a veteran of 7 Space Shuttle missions, making him the joint record holder for most spaceflights (a record he shares with Franklin Chang-Díaz).

Jerry Ross (born Jerold Rosenberg; March 9, 1926 – November 11, 1955) was an American lyricist and composer whose works with Richard Adler for the musical theater include The Pajama Game and Damn Yankees, winners of Tony Awards in 1955 and 1956, respectively, in both the "Best Musical" and "Best Composer and Lyricist" categories.
Wrote classics "Hernando's Hideaway" and "Steam Heat". Jerry Ross wrote the musical scores for two of the most popular and enduring musicals in Broadway Theater, “The Pajama Game” and “Damn Yankees,” two shows which personify the innocence and exuberance of the Golden Age of Broadway.
A veteran of seven spaceflights, Jerry Ross spent more than 1,393 hours in space, including 58 hours, 18 minutes on nine spacewalks. When he retired from NASA in 2012, Ross was the only person to have been launched into space seven times.
